I definitely don't recommend being a martyr for others. I don't think anyone should absorb others' faults, and that's not remotely what I was saying. It makes EVERYONE better to view the things they've "done to you" as a gift because it gives you the chance the transform. One transformation enables another. Holding space for wounded people who have wounded you allows them to perceive themselves, through you, as being able to change.

interesting perspective on intelligence ...but to absorb the faults of others as your own?!?

"See her handing you the opportunity to heal the trauma from her past that she was unable to heal. See her putting you through a painful initiation ritual to allow you to grow more massively and expansively than most people have the opportunity for."

true, it may make your life a lot easier bein a sort of martyr for others but how does it make EVERYONE better? if you were to absorb their faults ... how does it improve THEIR state? for some reason, this is not clickin ...

Intelligence is a hairy topic. It's true: within race and sex bell curves, body hair and intelligence are correlated at least somewhat. I wish I could find a free copy of the study, as most of the news articles present it as "Isn't this amusing?" and don't cover the nuance of the study. (To wit: you don't have to have hair to be smart.)
